Rocky Mountain Immersion

Announcing our new Rocky Mountain Immersion homestay program for summer 2019!

Liberty Springs (LS) + Different Standard (DS) = Rocky Mountain Immersion (RMI).

This intensive summer learning program is set in the Rocky Mountains of the western United States for the benefit of educating and enriching the lives of young students through immersive learning.

What is immersion and why is it important? Using as many of the 5 senses—touch, smell, sight, sound, and taste—in the learning process results in faster learning, increased comprehension and retention, and happier students who become life-long learners.

5 Main Elements

This unique summer program is built upon 5 main elements1) Intensive English and Math Instruction and Practice, 2) Nature Education and Rocky Mountain Activities, 3) Western American Culture, 4) “Bucket List” Excursions, and 5) American Family Homestay.

Intensive English and Math Instruction
Individual and small group English instruction taught by advanced degree and teaching certificate holders. Each weekday receive instruction in all aspects of English with a focus on conversation, writing, and context. Daily practical application practice for each topic. Math instruction using the innovative curriculum of Different Standard is sure to advance any student quickly.

Western American Culture
Learn the history of the area and immerse yourself in the local businesses, restaurants, attractions, and culture.

Bucket List Excursions
Excursions to Yellowstone National Park, Arches National Park, Goblin Valley, Olympic Park, and many other locations that you will remember forever (and brag about to your friends!).

American Family Homestay
Homestay with an American Family. Enjoy life as part of a local family.

Intensive English Instruction

Our teachers have a Master’s in Second Language Teaching, ESL endorsements and English majors as well. They also have an average of 12 years teaching experience.

While using a variety of methodologies in the classrooms, our teachers have a strong communicative and whole language approach and incorporate reliable and authentic materials in each class.

Our lessons have real life application as well as grammar instruction.  We ensure that all four competencies of reading, writing, speaking and listening are covered as well as aspects of American culture. We have more recently made great efforts in the area of pronunciation and have been using Speech Pathologist professionals to train both our teachers and our students.

This well-rounded program has two strong main focuses—1)loving each individual who walks through the door being certain that they feel welcomed, and 2) maintaining a high quality education program that challenges each student and allows them to progress at their own rate.

The English Language Center is the best place for adult English education in the state of Utah. Because of its excellence and effectiveness the language center boasts the following recognition:

·         ‘Best of State’ award for multiple years

·         Top ‘student progress outcomes’ organization in the state of Utah as determined by the Utah State Office of Education

·         Served students from more than 100 different countries
