Land Before Time Paleontology Program

 Find actual Dinosaur bones in an active quarry! Work in a paleontology lab! Search for prehistoric fossils and so much more! Journey back in time at the Land Before Time Dinosaur Program!

This is the premiere dinosaur program in the United States. Students will have the opportunity to work with professional paleontologists while they dig up actual fossils and dinosaur bones. Nowhere else can students get the hands-on experience they will receive as they journey back in time and walk where the dinosaurs walked.

Students will learn science and STEM skills as they work with Paleontologists and test the scientific method. They will also improve their English as they work with American students and participate in intensive English classes.

Randolph Geology Ranch

At the Randolph Geology Ranch, students will learn the ins and outs of geology, minerals, rocks, and fossils to establish a base for working in the dinosaur quarries. Students will have intensive geology/paleontology lessons in English from professional geologists and paleontologists.

Students will also learn team building and leadership with local American students attending the program. The facility features full size classrooms, kitchen and dining area, gym, sport fields, etc.. Other ranch activities include animal feeding and care, horsemanship, giant waterslide, athletics, orienteering, camp fires, and so much more.

Fossil Butte National Monument

Dig for fossils in an ancient lake with expert paleontologists. Students are guaranteed to find lifeforms from prehistoric times including fish, turtles, crocodiles, birds, and so much more. Then visit the museum and learn about the history of ancient America and the early lifeforms that roamed the land.

  • Each program will be geared toward the level of difficulty each age group is capable of.  

  • Our programs are open to students of all genders.

  • The Land Before Time Dinosaur Program is a mixed program, meaning it consists of English-speaking students from various countries including many from the United States.

The Wyoming Dinosaur Center is one of the premiere dinosaur dig sites in America. Hundreds of dinosaur skeletons and fossils have been found at the facility. Students will work with the full-time paleontologists, scientists, and Ph.D.’s as they learn about dinosaurs, dig for dinosaurs in the dinosaur pits, and work on fossils in the world-class paleontology labs. This is an experience unmatched by any around the world.

  • STEM – Throughout the whole program students will be practicing and learning STEM skills including the scientific method, hypothesis testing, the use of scientific measuring instruments, mathematical application, and so much more.

  • English – All activities during the course of the program are conducted in English. Students will participate on average in 30 hours per week of classes.

  • Geology – The first week of the program features extensive geology training where students learn the science of the earth and its various structures.

  • Paleontology – Students will have a two-week extensive training in paleontology as the work alongside professional paleontologists to discover the history of dinosaurs and other prehistoric lifeforms.  

  • Leadership – Students will need to learn how to work together in teams with people from diverse backgrounds while employing critical thinking and creativity to solve problems and design projects.


Dot Bar Ranch – Randolph Utah

Dot Bar Ranch is in the beautiful mountains of Randolph Utah and features wide open spaces for students to have fun, relax, and learn! At the ranch students take care of animals, learn traditional American dances, take classes, play games, learn traditional American crafts and so much more!

 The facility offers beautiful, modern rooms that have enough beds for each participant with multiple private shower/bathroom facilities. The Ranch also features multiple classrooms, game rooms, a gym, and dining room.

Quality Inn – Thermopolis Wyoming

At the Quality Inn, each student will share a room and full-size bathroom with 3 or four other students of their same gender. Each student will have their own bed. The hotel is fully staffed and also features a pool, hot-tub, and large dining room for activities.

Island Park Cabins – Yellowstone, Wyoming

The cabins are large, spacious, and luxurious. Each student will share a room and bathroom with 3-4 other students of their same gender. Cabins feature game rooms, full size dining areas, and so much more!

Laundry and Dining

There are full-service laundry facilities at all lodging locations that will be available to participants every 4 days.   

The program will provide 3 traditional American, filling, and balanced meals each day for participants. There is an FDA approved kitchen/dining room with staff on location. We can accommodate dietary restrictions if notified in advance.
