Technology (Internet, hand held devices, social media, screens, etc.) can prove a useful tool, but it can also be destructive. This can be said about all technological advances, even the most primitive. The same hammer that can be used to build a new, wonderful creation can also be used to destroy or inflict harm.
Reframing is necessary when the technology does not serve to enrich one’s life. Some develop a healthy attitude toward the uses and potential of the hammer, while others develop a firm discipline to not pick it up again.
Technology reframing advances the individual well beyond basic healing.
The goal is to equip individuals to thrive, not just survive. We move into the realm of real world integration. In the final stages of the program, we introduce our students to real-world situations surrounded by technology. Technology can thoughtfully approach the remainder of life using the tool kit gained in our program.
